Nicholas J. Walch
Rollingstone, Minn.
Nicholas J. Walch, 84-year-old retired farmer, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth's hospital, Wabasha.
He had been a patient there for 13 years.
Mr. Walch was born February 2, 1867, in Mount vernon township and had farmed on Oak Ridge practically all his life.
He married Lena Erpelding January 30, 1894. She died about 20 years ago.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ray Lehnertz, Rollingstone; three sons, Arthur, Plainview; Elmer, Potland, Ore.; Norbert, Cleveland, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Al and Francis, Rollingstone and John, Elgin, Minn., and three sisters, Mrs. Laura Speltz, Albert Lea; Mrs. Edwin Schell, Minneiska, Miss Cecelia Walch, Winona. Two sons, Leo and Arnold, are dead.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Trinity church here the Rev. S. N. Majerus officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Kohner Funeral Home here tonight, Tuesday afternoon and evening.
