- Ruth E. Augsburg, 88, of Steward, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2001 at the Shabbona Health Care Center. She was born January 7, 1913 the daughter of John and Martha (Steuer) Schneidewind at Chicago, Illinois. Ruth married John J. Augsburg on March 31, 1951 at Naperville. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Rochelle; the Lee County Farm Bureau. Survivors include three sons Kenneth (Charolette) Augsburg of Creston, William (Kathy) Augsburg of Joliet, and Ronald (June) Augsburg of Monroe, WI; one daughter, Kay (Dick Shewczyk) Heim of Naperville; 17 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and one son-in-law, Richard Kohley. Ruth is preceded in death by her husbands, Elmer Mielke and John J. Augsburg; two daughters, Karen Kohley and Janet Weideman; and one brother Albert Schneidewind. Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, January 17, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Rochelle with Fr. David Peck officiating. Burial will follow services at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery in Naperville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2001 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb. A spiritual wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening. A memorial is being established for Ruth E.
